What the technique does
Saline tattoo removal involves implanting a saline solution over existing permanent makeup using a tattoo machine. The saline draws pigment upward toward the skin’s surface, and the treated area forms a scab that lifts pigment out as it heals. This method targets existing PMU pigment rather than introducing new color.
After treatment a scab forms and flakes as the pigment lifts; this is the mechanism that reduces visible color. Some clients need several sessions to reach their goals—darker or longstanding brows usually require more appointments. Each visit is scheduled for 120 MINUTES to allow treatment, aftercare instructions, and discussion of next steps.
Healing and sun exposure
Healing centers on scab formation and controlled flaking; avoid picking or heavy sun during this time. We recommend scheduling saline removal during lower sun months—our busiest months are Jan, Feb and Nov—because reduced UV exposure lowers the chance of pigmentation changes while the treated skin is scabbing and healing.
Castle Shannon’s four-season climate affects timing: winter and late autumn offer the most protection from sun, making aftercare simpler. Because many clients balance commuting, work and family, we book appointments to fit busy schedules and the studio’s location along Library Road makes it easy to combine removal with errands or shopping at South Hills Village.
Choosing treatment at Glass House
Deciding whether saline removal is right depends on pigment depth, previous procedures, and your aesthetic goal. Our clients consistently value thorough mapping, patient explanation, and precise work during permanent makeup services; expect the same attentive approach for removal so you can weigh how many sessions and what follow-up you prefer.
Each saline removal session is priced at $150 and scheduled for 120 MINUTES. Bring photos of your current permanent makeup and be prepared to discuss your expectations; clear communication helps us plan the number of sessions and the interval between visits based on how your skin responds.
